Claude Desktop extension

Gives the Claude Desktop app the tools to start the listener, read the transcript, read briefs and sync connectors. Desktop has no background loop, so you keep it listening by asking it to.

Install

  1. Python 3.11 or newer on the PC, with pip install mcp faster-whisper pyaudiowpatch numpy.
  2. Download meeting-ear-claude-desktop.mcpb and double-click it, or drag it into Claude Desktop, Settings, Extensions.
  3. In the extension settings, set the briefs folder and your microphone name.
  4. Create a Project in Claude Desktop and paste the contents of the project instructions file from the docs into its instructions. That text is the operating procedure: when to speak, how to use the tools, what never to do.

Use

In the project chat: "start listening to my call with Harbor Lane". Claude reads the brief, starts the listener and polls the transcript. Say "keep listening" to continue, "what did they say about pricing", or "stop and write the recap".

Limits

Desktop cannot read a codebase folder, so codebase connectors are covered only by their synced file. Research actions need web search enabled in Desktop. The assistant answers when you ask or when it polls, not the instant a line arrives.
