Earpiece, the five ways to run it
Earpiece sits beside you on a client call. It hears the call, keeps a transcript, and posts a short note only when it helps: a fact from the brief, a correction of a misstated number, a line to say, a lookup from a live source, or an action you can fire. Nothing goes to the client. You read and decide.
Pick the one that fits the machine you are on.
| Option | Where it runs | What leaves the machine | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Web app (this site) | your browser plus Vercel | audio to Deepgram (or nothing, in browser mode), turn text to Anthropic | any laptop, any OS, no install |
| Windows desktop app | your PC | turn text only | daily use on your own machine, local Whisper on the GPU |
| Local app (source) | your PC or a home server | turn text only | sharing with a few colleagues over a private network |
| Claude Code plugin | your terminal | whatever your Claude Code session sends | people who already live in Claude Code |
| Claude Desktop extension | the Claude Desktop app | whatever Claude Desktop sends | people who prefer the Desktop app |
All five read the same client brief format: one folder per client with markdown files for people, facts and numbers, open questions, and things not to say, plus optional connectors that pull facts from live sources such as a CRM or a codebase.
The flow, whichever option you pick
- Before the call: open the client, check the brief, press Sync on each connected source so the latest facts are in it.
- During the call: press Start. Notes appear as cards. Press Run on an action card when the assistant proposes research or a lookup. Type a question in Ask when you want one.
- After the call: press Stop. The recap is written. File the meeting to your CRM's approval queue with one button, export the transcript, or add facts to the brief.
