Windows desktop app
The desktop app is the local server and the live screen in one window. Transcription runs on your PC with Whisper, the assistant runs through the bundled Claude Agent SDK, and your audio never leaves the machine.
Install
- Download
MeetingEar-Setup-0.1.0.exefrom Downloads. For now the link opens a Google Drive share for the firm, so sign in with the Google account it was shared with. - Run it. SmartScreen shows "unknown publisher" once because the build is not code-signed; choose More info, Run anyway.
- Windows 10 or 11 with Edge WebView2 (present on Windows 11).
First launch
- The app creates
Documents\MeetingEar\briefswith a template and an example client. Put one folder per client there, or point Settings at another folder. - Settings, Engine: pick Claude Code (uses the
claudecommand and your existing login if Claude Code is installed), Agent SDK (bundled, uses your Anthropic API key or an existing Claude login), or API (your key, direct). Paste an API key if you chose one of the last two; it is stored in Windows Credential Manager. - Settings, Devices: pick the microphone you talk into and the output your call plays through. On a headset both are the headset.
- The first session downloads the Whisper model (about 480 MB) once.
Use
- Pick the client, press Start listening.
- Cards appear as the call goes. Ask, Wake, actions, pin, flag and the compact strip (a small always-on-top window) work as in the web app.
- Press Stop. The recap is written automatically. File to CRM and Export are in the post-call strip.
Connecting StartupHQ or another MCP server
Add a connectors.json to the client folder (the template folder has an example). For a server that Claude Code is already logged into, set "auth": {"type": "claude-oauth"} and pick the Claude Code or Agent SDK engine: the app reuses that login. For a server with a token, set "auth": {"type": "bearer", "env": "MY_TOKEN"} and put the token in that environment variable.
Where things are
Config and sessions: %LOCALAPPDATA%\MeetingEar. Each session folder has transcript.txt, lines.jsonl, notes.jsonl and recap.md.
Not working?
- No lines appear: check Settings, Devices. Over Remote Desktop only "Remote Audio" exists and there is no microphone unless the RDP client redirects it.
- Cards never appear: open the gear and check the engine. Claude Code needs
claudeon PATH and a login; the other two need a key. - The GPU is not used: the packaged build runs Whisper on the CPU. Run the local app from source for GPU transcription.
