Connecting StartupHQ and other live sources

A connector is a read-only source of facts about a client. Two jobs: before the call, Sync writes its facts into the brief; during the call, the assistant can query it live and cite the record. After the call, File to CRM proposes the meeting into its approval queue.

In the web app

  1. Open Connect.
  2. StartupHQ is listed. Press Connect. You are sent to StartupHQ's sign-in, approve, and come back with a green "Connected as you" line. That is all: the connection is stored under your account and refreshed automatically.
  3. Any other MCP server: Add server, paste its URL. Servers that support sign-in get a Connect button; servers with a token get a token field.
  4. A codebase on GitHub: Add repository, pick the repo. Needs a GitHub token in your settings.
  5. Open the client, Sources tab, press Sync. The new connector-startuphq.md appears under Files and its facts under Facts.

In the desktop app and the local app

Add a connectors.json to the client folder. With "auth": {"type": "claude-oauth"} the Claude Code and Agent SDK engines reuse the login Claude Code already holds for that server. With a token, use "auth": {"type": "bearer", "env": "VAR"}.

In the plugins

Nothing to configure: Claude Code and Claude Desktop use the MCP servers you already added to them.

What the assistant may do

Only read, during a call. The only write is the post-call File action, limited to the tools you list under after_call_tools, which should be ones that land in an approval queue, such as StartupHQ's propose.
